Kesar Murg (Saffron Chicken Recipe)


  • 6 large pieces of Boneless Chicken
  • 1 cup Onion paste
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • 1 cup Curd
  • 3/4 cup Cream
  • 4 teaspoon Cashew nut paste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kesar (Saffron) dissolved in milk
  • 1 teaspoon Dhania powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon White pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon Cloves (laung) and Cardamoms (elaichi)
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • Chilli powder
  • Salt as per taste

Method :

  1. Take oil in a pan and heat it. Add whole garam masala and bay leaves to the pan followed by ginger garlic paste and onion. Fry it on low flame till the time oil separates.
  2. Further, add dhania powder, cashew nut paste. Mix well.
  3. Place pieces of boneless chicken in the pan. Add curd, pepper, chilli powder, salt and saffron.
  4. Bring it to a boil and then cook on low flame to cook the chicken well. Remove off the flame once the chicken becomes tender.
  5. Whip the chicken in cream. Serve hot with tandoori rotis.
