Mewar Festival
Mewar festival is celebrated at the same time as Gangaur. The Mewar festival heralds the coming of spring. As it is celebrated with singing, dancing, fireworks, processions and devotional music, the festival is a visual as well as aural delight.
Colourfully dressed up women carry the images of Gauri (Goddess Parvati) to Lake Pichola for immersion. A unique aspect of Mewar festival is an unusual procession of boats on Lake Pichola ends the celebration of this festival with a befitting finale.
Apart from the religious aspect, the festival is also an occasion to simply have a great time.
