Fateh Sagar Lake Udaipur
In the lake city of Udaipur, Fateh Sagar has its own important place. It is a man made that lake that was originally a perennial storage reservoir, dug in 1678. The lake has beautiful vistas, with hills on three sides and Maharana Pratap memorial on the fourth. Major repair works on the lake and the dam were carried out by Maharana Fateh Singh, hence the lake was named after him.
The beautiful Nehru Island as well as a small island with a solar observatory rise from the lake. The Fateh Sagar lake has excellent luxury boat cruises that are the ideal way to enjoy the sun setting over the beautiful skyline of Udaipur.
