Taragarh Fort

Taragarh Fort is the Fort of Ajmer. This is believed to be the first hill fort in Asia and among the oldest hill forts in the world. It was constructed when Aravali mountain range was above the snowline.

The beautiful fort of Chauhan rulers has six gates, a massive battlement called Bhim Burj that supports a big cannon and thick walls. Huge stone water reservoirs that once served the residents of the fort evoke gasps of admiration. Miran Saheb ki Dargah, an eponymous tomb inside the fort is dedicated to the brave warrior who sacrificed his life defending Taragarh during an enemy attack.
