Adhai Din Ka Jhopra
This amazing structure was constructed in just two and a half days, giving it its quirky name. Made in 1153, it is a famous attraction of Ajmer. An extremely beautiful example of Hindu and Muslim architecture, this mosque building has forty carved columns, with no two of them alike. Koranic verses can still be read on the seven - arched wall of the mosque while there is a Sanskrit inscription above the main gate. Made of yellow limestone facade, there is a tower inside the mosque where the muezzin chants the prayers. The walls are minutely carved and have the appearance of a fine net.
