Pindari Glacier Trekking Tour

Pindari Glacier, a trekkers' paradise, is a world famous glacier and is easier to trek than most other glaciers. The Pindari Glacier has a beauty of its own, Pindari is a big and steep glacier measuring 3km in length and 0.25km in breadth This glacier is situated between snow capped NANDA DEVI and NANDAKOT mountains.The river Pindari originates from this glacier. The glacier is at an altitude of 3353 mtrs. The entire trekking route is filled to the brim with natural beauty. A trek to the Pindari Glacier is a "soft adventurous" experience and well within the capacity of any trekker who is amply rewarded by the magnificence and grandeur of the towering Himalayas.

Day 01: Arrive Delhi

You arrive in Delhi by International flight. After a traditional 'Swagat' (Welcome) our representative would assist you at the airport and to our hotel for check-in and overnight stay.

Day 02: Delhi - Kathgodam (Overnight Train)

After breakfast we will go on a guided tour of Delhi, beginning with a morning sightseeing trip to the Red Fort built in the year 1648 and Gandhi Memorial at Raj Ghat. Afternoon tour includes drive around India Gate, President's House and visits to Humayun's Tomb, Lotus Temple and Qutub Minar. Later in the evening take the overnight train from Old Delhi railway station to Kathgodam (Departure-22:40 hrs) Overnight Journey.

Day 03: Kathgodam - Song (199 km, 8hrs)

Arrive at Kathgodam 06:30 hrs. Received by Caper escort and transferred to waiting vehicle after brief rest. Post breakfast drive to Song, Lunch on the way to Song, Arrive Song by evening and Check in at River side guest house for Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 04: Song - Dhakuri (14 km 8 / hrs)

Post breakfast, Gradual ascending to 2300m high Dhakuri Pass requires early start as vital reason of being tired is not altitude but Sun above head. Impressive view of Maiktoli, trisul, Devtoli & Nanda Ghat from Dhakuri Pass. We will have lunch on the way to Dhakuri, Arrive campsite by late afternoon. Dinner & Overnight in the Camp / Guest house.

Day 05: Dhakuri - Khati (2210 mts).... Easy walk (9 kms, 5-7hrs)

Post breakfast strat trek with packed lunch, The trek is descending and goes through village outskirts. One can see valley life, cultivation and ofcourse jungle is there. Take the trail up the Pindar valley. Halt at Khati ( 2210m ). Dinner Overnight in Guest House / Tents.

Day 06: Khati - Dwali (11Kms. 5-7 hrs)

Khati is well known village. Actually this whole trek is very old and its history goes back to Victorian era. Lord Curzon was an adventure loving personality and due to his this passion...all trek were created for him and his men. Post Breakfast strat trek from Khati to Dwali with packed lunch, Trek is slightly upwards..going zig zag on mountain ridges..gaining gradual hight. Travel North-East along the River Pinder to Dwali ( 2575m ), where the Kaphni 'Gad' flows into the River Pinder. Dinner and Overnight in Guest House / Tents.

Day 07: Dwali - Phurkiya (05Kms. 5-6hrs)

Post breakfast strat trek with packed lunch for Phurkiya, Here is greatest challenge of the trek...usually bridge is washed away and trekker has to cross over flooded stream by doing some circus like act. It need fearless mind, and well balanced instincts. The trail ascends steeply upto Phurkiya, Walking though dense jungles of Gharwal & Kumaon Himalayas is a experience of it's own type. Phurkia is at 3250m. Dinner and Overnight stay at Phurkiya.

Day 08: Phurkiya - Zero Point & Back (10 Kms. / 7-8 hrs walking)

Proceed deeper into the mountains climbing steadily upto Zero Point ( 3660m).There are few causalities been reported due to high altitude sickness and few trekkers had also experienced this impact,walking for Zero point is all walking into clouds and some of rare photographic scenes can be visualized here. At zero point temprature at night goes below zero but it also offers a unique expereince to be in company of such a massive natural body like terminal moraines, erosions and huge glacial body of Pindari which is source of Pinder River. Zero point is where Pinder Glacier starts but as trekker can not go ahead due to heavy crevasses area,it is point from where one can witness majestically of Greater Himalayas. Back to Phurkiya for Overnight stay.

Day 09: Phurkiya - Dwali - Khati (16 Kms. / 7-8 hrs walking)

After breakfast a down hill trek to Khati with packed lunch. Dinner and Overnight stay at the Camp / Guest house.

Day 10: Khati - Dhakuri (9Kms / 3-4 hrs walking)

After breakfast with start our trek with Packed lunch from Khati to Dhakuri . Dinner and Overnight stay at the Camp or GMVN Rest house.

Day 11: Dhakuri - Song (14 Kms. / 6hrs walking) - Nainital (By Drive )

Post breakfast start trek from Dhakuri to Saung (15 kms) arrive by afternoon and have your lunch, After lunch we sit in the Vehichle and Drive through the picturesque scenery of Kumaon to reach the hill station of Nainital. Evening at leisure. Dinner and Overnight stay in Hotel.

Post breakfast full day for excursions to Bhim Tal, Naukuchiya Tal and Sat Tal lakes. Lunch at the hotel and evening at leisure and on time transfer to Kathgodam Railway Station to Catch the Overnight train to Delhi (Dep 2130hrs) we will have our dinner at Kathgodam. Overnight Journey.

Day 12: Nainital - Delhi (Overnight Train)

Day 13: Arrive Delhi

Arrive at Delhi at 06:30 hrs. Received by Caper escort and transferred to hotel. A leisurely morning is followed by breakfast and time at leisure. In evening we will go for the evening Light and Sound show at Red fort. Drive back to hotel for Farewell Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 14: Depart Delhi
