Fateh Sagar Lake, Udaipur

In the lake city of Udaipur, Fateh Sagar has its own important place. It is a man made that lake that was originally a perennial storage reservoir, dug in 1678. The lake has beautiful vistas, with hills on three sides and Maharana Pratap memorial on the fourth. Major repair works on the lake and the dam were carried out by Maharana Fateh Singh, hence the lake was named after him.
